BIOGRAPHY

Sam Parulekar is the Founder and Director of Imind Training Solutions and Consultancy. He is a graduate in Botany from Mumbai University and MA is Yogshastra from Kalidas Sanskrit University.

He specialises in development of E-Learning programs for corporates and Individuals. He conducts Online and Offline training on various Spiritual Topics to help the corporate individuals. He also runs a Yoga studio-Yogshakti Yog Studio which he manages in the early morning hours.

In his spare time he is either writing books or composing music on his piano, guitar and flute. He is a passionate motivational and spiritual speaker and is often called to share his views in Seminars and Conferences. He lives in Mumbai with his wife Harshada and his mother.

Today, people discuss karma as if it’s a banal topic. Everyone has a say on this complex subject. Even a person whose karma is so entangled with the past can also come up with a thought on this topic. It may sound jovial, but the reality is harsher. Most people don’t take a second to cite a few verses from Gita on karma. Ask them whether the karma he/she is doing is the right karma, you can judge how much they know about the karma. People often say I am doing this. But the real doer is the person itself. Even that person doesn’t know who is the real doer. Every day people are doing something to sustain themselves and their family members. Is that the real karma? No. Real karma is how you are selflessly performing a task without wishing for the result. You are doing this because your circumstances compel you to do this. When you do something for the larger good of humans then you are inching towards real karma. Remember so long as you do something and consider that you’re the doer, then you are far from the divinity.

Chanakya had taught his students the process of ‘right thinking’, called ‘Aanvikshiki’, a method of philosophical thinking leading to strategic thinking. Instead of teaching our children, “What to think, we should teach them, How to think,” said our Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech describing the vision of the National educational policy 2020. It is quite obvious that we have a challenge in our generation. We are loaded with over information, turning into information pollution. All systems are about gathering information and collecting data. But, processing the data is a different ballgame altogether. Chanakya had taught his students the process of ‘right thinking’, called ‘Aanvikshiki’, a method of philosophical thinking leading to strategic thinking. Though there are various thinking models given in Kautilya’s Arthashastra, let us focus on one simple five-step formula of deliberation to achieve our goals.

Shri Vishnu Sahasranama

While Vishnusahasranama is the fruit, Bhagavat Gita is the root of the tree. Vishnu Sahasranama is a prayer that lists 1000 names of Vishnu written in a cadence called Anushtup. There are numerous narratives on Sri Vishnu Sahasranaama. Sri Sri Shankara was the first to make a commentary that provides the Advaita standpoint. There are 7 important measures in Sanskrit Gayatri, Ushnik, Anushtup, Bruhati, Pankti, Trishtup, Jagati. There are also supposed to be the names of the 7 nags that draw the chariot of the Sun God. (Hence, in Sanskrit slokas, the word Ashva refers to the number 7). The function of prayers written in these crucial measures has been numerous fold; It gives the satisfaction of praising the Lord by listing his names. It's a way to pass on the collection from one generation to the coming, via the Sruti-Smriti system of literacy, with no spoken material to be saved. There are those who say that Sanskrit letters (Akshara = which also means imperishable) and the measures erected up from them, when invested with sound energy (when one chants them in a fashion which is regulated by the cadence), produce climate (sound is nothing but a series of the climate of colorful confines following one another in a specific manner) that beget some good for the body. At the veritably introductory position, it's a form of aerobic exercise for the brain to recite these from memory because every word refers to a commodity for illustration, Giridhari (Govardhan Parvat is associated with Gokul-- a vill that worshiped Lord Indra, this mountain( Giri) that Lord Krishna held on his hand( Dhar), and latterly was called as Giridhari).
